Making Paper a Sustainable Resource
Prografica has partnered with 10 Thousand Trees in its efforts to make a positive footprint on the environment and it gels well with our ongoing initiatives to be environmentally friendly.
Why do we do this?
Paper is a great way to communicate but with the growing world demand for paper, the need for more paper and in turn, more trees, is only increasing. Each Australian consumes over 200kg of paper annually. An estimated 13% comes from tropical forests, much of which is illegally logged.*
Even with steps taken to reforest the globe, world forestry consumption is currently not sustainable, with a net loss of forests twice the size of Tasmania every year.
Each loss of a forest affects families and animal communities who have been present in regions for thousands of years and reduces our planets ability to absorb CO2 from an increasingly industrialised world.
The 10 Thousand Tree Program
10 Thousand Trees give you the ability to create not a neutral but a positive legacy. As soon as you get involved you neutralise your paper consumption by getting us to plant the equivalent number of trees consumed through your printing. We don’t stop there; we are practical and take a long term view for our children, and children’s children.
With 10 Thousand Trees your print and paper usage will go beyond sustainability, beyond responsibility to legacy: 10 trees planted today through a continual cycle of harvesting and reinvesting proceeds will grow into 10,000 trees for our grandchildren’s future (or 120 years). How this works is your contribution is expected to double every 12 years. Proceeds of each harvest will then be reinvested back into more trees.
We plant native blue gum plantations with Elder’s Forestry who are FSC certified. Trees are planted in Australia on land that is currently used for farming.
Partner will add a contribution of 1% of the print invoice which starts you on the road to neutrality and in the long run become positive.
What do I get for my contribution?
Your contribution helps make paper a sustainable resource and starts planting towards your positive legacy and a positive environmental footprint.
It aligns to your use of resources in both the short and long term
You get a competitive advantage by marketing your Green contribution to your clients and customers. Let your customers know of your contribution towards the environment by:
- Having the 10 Thousand Trees logo on your documents for all print jobs with a contribution
- Have your legacy of 50,000 trees printed on your documents
- Every print job and the trees you have planted will be recorded and we update you periodically on your growing legacy with a certificate at the end of the year.
- On hitting certain levels 10 Thousand Trees will publicise your legacy on their website
